With a strong foundation as a qualified biomedical scientist, my journey in education spans over 7 years. I currently am a dedicated Science practitioner at a Nottingham-based academy, where I make the intricacies of GCSE Science accessible and enjoyable for all students.

I’ve held key leadership roles, including KS3 Coordinator and Lead Practitioner in Science, which have strengthened my ability to drive progress and inspire a love for learning. My teaching brings a unique perspective that goes beyond academic success, fostering a deeper appreciation of the subject.

With 9 years of experience teaching Maths, I’m a passionate and skilled educator based at a Nottingham academy. I’ve held key leadership roles including KS3 and KS4 Coordinator, as well as Lead Practitioner in Maths. I have extensive experience with exam classes and consistently help students achieve success.

Sian Davies - BA English and Education Studies

I have been passionately working in education for over 11 years. I started teaching English as a foreign language in England and internationally, then completed my PGCE in Secondary English in 2016. Since then, I have taught English up to A Level in two Nottinghamshire secondary schools. I've held various roles, including whole-school literacy lead, reading intervention lead, and now KS3 Coordinator. Additionally, I am an AQA English Language examiner with 8 years of GCSE marking experience. I take great pride in helping my students achieve their best possible grades and am committed to guiding them there.

As a teacher in a local primary school, I have taught across KS1 and KS2 which has given me both knowledge and understanding of learning across the primary age group. As Maths and Science lead, I am aware of the areas children can find more challenging. I aim to be a passionate and driven tutor and make these areas of learning more meaningful! I want learning to be fun and practical which will aid younger learners to gain more knowledge in their chosen area of development.
